The 2nd Asian Youth Games was held in Nanjing, China from 16 to 24 August 2013. A total of 84 young athletes from Singapore participated in the Games lead by Chef de Mission, Ms Tan Paey Fern.
Singapore competed in Aquatics (Diving and Swimming), Athletics, Badminton, Fencing, Football, Judo, Shooting and Table Tennis at the Games and finished 6th overall on the medal table. The Republic’s final medal tally stood at 5 Golds, 12 Silvers and 6 Bronzes medals from Swimming, Fencing and Shooting. In the inaugural edition in Singapore four years ago, Singapore won 9 Golds, 6 Silvers and 15 Bronzes.
The next Asian Youth Games will be held in Hambantola, Sri Lanka in 2017.
