Singapore, 2 April 2015 – The Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) Games Appeals Committee approved the selection of additional 44 athletes (refer to Annex A) for the 2015 SEA Games today.
These athletes will join the 941 athletes who have already been selected by the SNOC to represent Singapore at the SEA Games.
This selection process includes athletes who have qualified and met the benchmark set by the SNOC for the SEA Games.
The National Sports Associations (NSAs) will then narrow down the specific athletes who will be represented in the sports events in accordance to their internal selection policies. The NSAs will have to submit the shortlist to SNOC by 15 April 2015. The final list of athletes representing Singapore at the 2015 SEA Games is expected to be ready by end April 2015.
“Tremendous efforts have been put in by the athletes and the National Sports Associations to qualify for the 2015 SEA Games. This spirit displayed by them is very encouraging. The Singapore National Olympic Council is proud to endorse their participation for the upcoming SEA Games,” said Chris Chan, Secretary-General of the Singapore National Olympic Council.
