More information

Ajit Singh Gill is a former Singaporean hockey player who competed at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games.

The Kuala Lumpur-born player moved to Singapore in 1953, where he attended the Teacher Training College. He promptly began representing Singapore in hockey, which he continued for another four years.

The Melbourne Olympics was to be the last time that Ajit played for Singapore. However, he continued to fly the Singapore flag in other sports such as cricket (in 1960) and golf, playing the latter beyond the 1990s.
