More information

Former national archer Abdul Dayyan bin Mohamed Jaffar is a 2010 Youth Olympic Games bronze medallist. His bronze medal came from the mixed team recurve event, where he was paired up with Elif Begunhan Unsal of Turkey. He also advanced to the quarter-finals in the individual event.

His victory propelled him to further his passion for the sport in a training camp overseas.
Though the bronze medallist retired from the sport to focus on studies, he did find another way to the Olympics in 2012. He starred in a commercial produced by McDonalds and Coca-Cola in support of the London Olympics, and was also the only Singaporean athlete to take part in the torch relay.
