More information

Jiang Yanmei is a national shuttler who took part in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. She played in the women’s singles event.

As a young girl, Yanmei actually had a weak constitution. She picked up badminton to improve her health and never looked back. Yanmei moved to Singapore in 1999, joining the national squad shortly after.

She was part of the 2003 team that won the gold at the Hanoi Southeast Asian Games. She also won the team gold in the 2006 Doha Asian Games. As a doubles player, she also shone: she partnered Li Yujia to take the women’s doubles silver at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games.
