Jumaat Ibrahim competed in the boxing flyweight category at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games. As Singapore had not yet gained independence, the boxer fought under the Malaysian flag.
Jumaat was a prolific boxer who was competing internationally by 1959, at the age of 21. Three years later, he earned the title of national flyweight champion and went on to retain it until 1970.
The boxer also had a solid presence at the 1965, 1967 and 1969 Southeast Asian Games. He brought home a medal at each edition of the regional tournament.
