Finalists for 2023 Singapore Sports Awards shortlisted

03 Aug 2023

Singapore, 3 August 2023 – The Singapore Sports Awards (SSA) selection committees revealed the finalists of the 2023 Singapore Sports Awards today.

Organised by the Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC) and Sport Singapore (SportSG), and supported by the Tote Board, the 2023 SSA honour the most deserving individuals and teams in sports for the year 2022. The winners will be announced at the SSA presentation ceremony on the evening of Wednesday, 23 August 2023.

The main awards selection committee was chaired by Mr Tan Chuan-Jin, former President of the SNOC while Mrs Jessie Phua, former Vice-President and now Acting President of the SNOC, chaired the selection committee for the Sportsboy/Sportsgirl awards.

As ball-carrier Reonne Yeo (ACS (Barker Road) prepares to take contact with tackler Noah Oey (ACS (Independent) in the National School Games (NSG) B Division Rugby Cup final, a moment of serendipitous back-focus draws attention to the throngs of mask-clad supporting family and friends lining the fence outside the MOE (Evans) Stadium on the afternoon of 21 April 2022. This was the first NSG rugby final to be played in two years due to the Covid-19 situation. Owing to the prevailing public health measures at the time, NSGs were held closed-door while NSG rugby was contested in the 7s format for that B Division season.
