More information
David Lim Tin Kiang was Singapore’s waterpolo goalkeeper at the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games.
David had nearly been banned from the Games after playing against Indonesia in a non-affiliated schools team. It placed his amateur status in question, leading to a suspension. However, it was lifted just in time for him to put up a stellar performance at the Games.
After the Olympics, he furthered his studies in Melbourne. After returning home in 1964, he won two gold medals at the Seap Games in 1965 and 1967. He won a silver medal at the 1966 Asian Games in Bangkok and also played at the 1970 edition.
