More information

Oon Jin Teik was one of Singapore’s swimming quartet in its 1984 Olympic Challenge in Los Angeles. He competed along with his brother Jin Gee, as well as Ang Peng Siong and David Lim. The quartet were tipped to give the national swimming delegation a boost in regional events.

Just a decade before the Olympic Games, a young Jin Teik was already smashing his national under-14 age group records. A year before, his relay quartet had ended a ten-year-long Southeast Asian Games gold drought with three golds.

He served as the Singapore Sports Council’s chief executive officer from 2004 to end 2010.
